Course Memo

Ayurveda utilizes herbs extensively for the management of wellness and treatment of disease. This course provides an overview of the basic principles of Ayurvedic herbal medicine. It explores the characteristics of herbs including taste, elements, properties/qualities, energies, post-digestive effect, and Ayurvedic classification. The role of herbs in balancing the equilibrium of Tridosha (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha) and emotions will be covered. The course will also explore methods of preparing a variety of Ayurvedic herbal remedies and discuss key herbs and their therapeutic use.
