Course Memo

Panchakarma is the Ayurvedic approach to detoxification, cleansing of the body and mind for rejuvenation and treatment of disease. This course provides information about the philosophy of Panchakarma, types of Panchakarma, and basic concepts of Ayurveda concerned with the process of Panchakarma. The course will cover the indications, contraindications, preparatory process and rules for diet and lifestyle before and after Panchakarma. The modalities covered in this course include personalized application of whole body massage techniques (oleation therapy), Ayurvedic facial massage, Swedana (hot pack-sudation therapy) techniques, various types of Basti (enema), Udwartana (massage with dry herbal powder), Virechana (purging), and Nasya (nasal drops).
